Jim Kaketch

Programme Officer, Research and Policy Uptake

Kaketch is a resourceful professional with extensive hands-on experience in research, political governance, decentralization, democracy, project/programme management, policy analysis, partnerships & civil society engagement focusing on, youth employment creation, social protection, water governance, urban governance, and education within Africa and more specifically Kenya. Kaketch champions the transformation of Africa through research evidence in public policymaking.

Currently, Kaketch is a Programme Officer – Research and Policy Uptake with the Partnership for African Social & Governance Research (PASGR). He is in charge of PASGR’s Utafiti Sera Houses (Urban Governance, Nairobi and Kigali; Youth Employment Creation – YEC; Social Protection; Water Governance; Universal Health Coverage -UHC, Zambia); and policy cultures study. Utafiti Sera is a Swahili phrase, meaning Research Policy. It is a dedicated and well thought out scheme that supports, builds and enhances a community of researchers and policy actors.

Kaketch is a Chevening Scholarship alumnus and holds an MSc, in Public Policy and Administration, London School of Economics and Political Science – UK, MA in Political Science and Public Administration, University of Nairobi – Kenya (University of Nairobi Merit Scholarship) and BA in Political Science and Sociology, University of Nairobi – Kenya.
