Programme officer, Research and Policy Uptake

Joel is an experienced researcher and policy specialist with interest in social justice, accountability, fragility and resilience, and sustainable development. His expertise cuts across the technical areas of evidence creation and learning, knowledge management, policy advocacy, programme/project cycle management, capacity building and training, and stakeholder coordination.

Joel is a Programme officer – research and policy uptake at the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) where he directly oversees the delivery of the Youth Aspirations and Resilience Research funded by MasterCard Foundation being conducted in seven countries; Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Senegal and the Youth Employment Creation (YEC) in Africa under the Utafiti Sera platform. His role also entails cross-country coordination of stakeholders in advocacy and policy uptake.

Joel is commonwealth scholarship alumnus, and holds a Master of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Liverpool Hope University, United Kingdom and Bachelor of Arts, Conflict Resolution and Humanitarian Assistance from Masinde Muliro University, Kenya.
